Australia Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) Requirements for UAE Residents — Tourist Stream

This page summarises Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) — Tourist Stream document requirements for Australia using verified, published Open Visa requirement data (6 documents, last verified 17 Sept 2026). Requirements can vary by nationality and circumstances such as funding source, applicant age (minor/adult). Use the personalized preparation tool for a checklist matched to your profile.

Conditional documents

  • Minor Identity and Consent Documents

Identity and guardianship documents (applicants under 18)

If the applicant is under 18, Home Affairs asks for a copy of the birth certificate showing the names of both parents (or an equivalent government/court/family-register identity document). Proof of legal guardianship is required where someone other than the biological parents has guardianship. Anyone with a legal right to decide where the child lives who is not travelling to Australia with them must complete Form 1229 or an equivalent statutory declaration. If you are under 18 and not staying with a relative or legal guardian, Home Affairs asks for Form 1257 — Undertaking declaration (fold into this row; engine cannot yet model relative/guardian stay separately).

  • Sponsor Evidence

Proof of funds from your relative or friend (if they will pay for your stay)

If a relative or friend in Australia will be paying for your stay, provide proof of their funds (Home Affairs invitation item). Applies where funding is sponsored or mixed. The official page does not require sponsor ID, relationship proof, or a fixed 6-month bank-statement window.

  • Translated Documents

    English translations of non-English documents

If any of your documents are not in English, have them translated into English and provide both the original and the translated documents (Home Affairs Tourist stream — apply outside Australia). Include translator details required for translators outside Australia. This obligation applies only when you have non-English documents; it is not a universal lodgement document for every applicant.

Recommended documents

  • Travel Itinerary

    Travel itinerary

Possible supporting evidence of your plans while in Australia (Home Affairs — "could include"). Recommended only.

  • Invitation Letter

Invitation letter from your relative or friend in Australia

If a relative or friend in Australia is inviting you to visit, you can provide a letter from them. Home Affairs lists an invitation among possible genuine-visitor evidence ("could include"): the letter could state their relationship to you, the purpose of your visit and length of stay, and whether you will be staying with them. An invitation letter is not universally required, and having an Australian relative or friend does not by itself make an invitation mandatory. If that person will be paying for your stay, provide proof of their funds under the separate sponsor-funds requirement (funding_source sponsored or mixed) — that funding evidence is not merged into this invitation row.

  • Travel Medical Insurance

Adequate health insurance for your stay

You are liable for all healthcare costs while in Australia. Home Affairs strongly recommends adequate health insurance. In some circumstances a visa may be granted with Condition 8501 (maintain adequate health insurance). This is recommended evidence / advice — never a lodgement requirement.

How requirements vary

The list above reflects published program requirements. Your exact documents may change based on answers in the preparation tool. Unanswered circumstances stay pending — we do not assume employment, funding, sponsorship, or age.
