A trip to Greece is a Schengen short-stay application, so one authorisation covers the wider Schengen Area — but only if you lodge it with the right consulate, through the right operator. Greece applications in the UAE are handled by VFS Global, and you apply here when Greece is where you will spend the most nights.
Emirati nationals travel to the Schengen Area visa-free for short stays. Most other UAE residents apply for a short-stay (Type C) visa, and the requirements are essentially uniform across member states.
Greek applications run through VFS Global in both Dubai (Wafi Mall) and Abu Dhabi (World Trade Centre), overseen centrally by the Greek Consular Office in Abu Dhabi — either UAE centre accepts submissions regardless of your home emirate. Apply to Greece when it is your main destination by nights spent; if another Schengen country accounts for more of your stay, the application belongs with that country instead.
Apply to Greece if it is where you will spend the most nights. If your nights are split evenly across several Schengen countries, apply to whichever one you enter first. Choosing a consulate because its appointments are easier to get is a common cause of avoidable problems.
Greece charges the standard Schengen consulate fee: €90 for adults and €45 for children aged 6 to 11, effective 11 June 2024; under-sixes are free. VFS Global adds its own service charge on top, set separately — confirm the current figure when you book your appointment.
